Ford’s SuperVan just posted a new fast time—beating out a Chevy Corvette ZR1X and Porsche 911 GT3 RS in the process. The all-electric Ford Transit SuperVan 4.2 completed a lap at the Nürburgring in 6:48.393, which is extremely fast, and faster than the aforementioned Corvette and 911, in addition to cars like the Ford Mustang GTD, the Audi RS Q8, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+, the BMW M4 CSL, and way faster than the Honda Civic Type R. The vehicle is a heavily modified race car, more or less, and not a production model. It has the body of a van but almost none of the other characteristics. The SuperVan makes 2,000 hp, for one thing, which was enough to set a time on the ‘Ring that is the 9th-fastest ever. Romain Dumas was the driver of the SuperVan 4.2 on its lap, and the automaker posted a video to prove it. Ford said the run was partly inspired by a Top Gear segment from 2009 when Sabine Schmitz took a Ford Transit around the ‘Ring in 10:08.49. That time was slower than her 10-minute goal—after Jeremy Clarkson had barely managed to get a Jaguar S-Type around in under 10 minutes—but impressive nonetheless. The van drove more than three minutes faster, with a lot of help, including slick tires. Ford’s SuperVan 4.2 is purely a show-off sort of car, which the marque takes to Bathurst and Pikes Peak to set records or attempt to set records, because everyone likes a hot van. It’s a fun project for Ford engineers, too. Ford says that projects like this also aid in the development of road-going EVs and its racing programs. “I can’t be specific just yet for competitive reasons, but suffice to say that a number of our future race programs will see the benefits from vehicles like SuperVan 4.2,” Michael Norton, a program manager at Ford, said in a blog post. It'd be easy to pigeonhole the Lamborghini Fenomeno into the same opening as the brand's previous limited-run exotica that Sant'Agata Bolognese dubs its "Few-Offs." These cars—the Reventon, the Sesto Elemento, the Centenario, et cetera—have been built from the bones of the automaker's series production vehicles, such as the Murcielago, Gallardo and Aventador. But while the Fenomeno may share much of its structure with the remarkable Revuelto, there's more to separate it from its PCOTY-winning sibling than was the case with its predecessors. "It is a continuation of the Few-Off program, but not only," says Lamborghini chief technical officer Rouven Mohr during an interview at the automotive spectacle of decadence known as The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. "We have also incorporated the performance side." "This is the first time, from my point of view, [a Few-Off has been] a holistic brand statement of performance and design." Lamborghini"The brand Lambo is always about the design and the performance, and in the past, the main focus of the Few-Offs was the design," he says. With the Fenomeno, thought, the company also boosted the car's performance versus its foundational vehicle—in a way that Mohr compared to going from the regular Aventador to the Aventador SVJ. "We have a new battery. We have a new braking system. We have new dampers. A lot of new things, to increase the performance," Mohr says. "This time, for the first time, if you buy a Few-Off, you buy... the pinnacle of the brand Lamborghini." The numbers prove his point: thanks to a combined output of 1063 horsepower made from its combination of a naturally-aspirated V-12 making 823 hp—thus making it the most powerful 12-pot in company history—and a trio of electric motors joining forces to whir up 242 hp of their own, the Fenomeno has the best power-to-weight ratio of any car Lamborghini has built. The brand also says it's the quickest Lambo yet, beating even the Revuelto that we saw blitz from 0-60 mph in 2.2 seconds and knock out the quarter-mile in 9.7 at 148 mph. But as Mohr makes clear, even at these levels of performance, the Fenomeno isn't a track car—and it's not meant to look like one, even if he suspects customers might prefer a more bewinged approach like the company did with the Veneno, for example. "We did a very sleek, very clean body—the basic proportion is quite clean," he says. "If you look at the side, it's very elegant; it's a little bit long tail-stylish. And on the other hand, you have the super-iconic elements." "The exhaust tailpipe, it's really a statement, you know?" he says with a chuckle. LamborghiniThe Fenomeno's exotic appearance—and having seen it at Monterey Car Week, believe me, it looks exotic in the best way in person, complex without being overly busy—is tied somewhat to its limited production numbers. The lower the number being built, Mohr says, the more freedom the brand has with the tooling for the carbon-fiber pieces that make up so much of the car, and the more time the company can take with assembly. Of course, if people react well, Lamborghini might need to find a way to translate some of the car's style to a broader audience. "The Few-Off is always a little bit of a laboratory to get the feedback, you know? It's kind of a laboratory of taste and so on," he says. "If we see something is very appreciated, then for sure it can influence the next generation [of series production cars]." LamborghiniAnd I suspect if Mohr has any say in the matter, it's the rear of the Fenomeno that might inspire the next generation of mainstream Lambos. When I ask him for his favorite feature, he smiles wide, walks me around to the stern of the car, and points to the taillights and rear fascia. Going forward, the base Durango will feature a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine that produces 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Starting at $42,495, the 2026 Durango stands out as the most affordable AWD V8 vehicle in the automotive industry. Not all Durango models will come equipped with the same V8 engine, though. The Durango R/T trim gets upgraded to a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that generates 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Earlier this year, Dodge also stated that the Durango Hellcat, supercharged engine and all, would return for another year. That range-topping model boasts a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 engine that produces 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque, pushing the SUV to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. What Will Customers Think Of That Body-Color Grille?The updated 2026 Acura Integra is now on sale, with pricing confirmed as being very close to the 2025 model. The base model starts at $34,595 with a $1,195 destination charge that's unchanged from the previous model year. That's an increase of just $400 counterbalanced by a new standard 9-inch touchscreen (two inches larger than before), standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and standard wireless phone charging. The rest of the lineup looks the same as before. The Integra A-Spec is one step up from the base model at $37,145 with destination. There's also an A-Spec with Technology Package starting at $40,395 available with either a six-speed manual transmission or the continuously variable transmission (CVT) that's standard on lower grades. Finally, the sporty Integra Type S starts at $54,595. What's New For 2026?The bigger touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto are major upgrades for the base model, as customers previously had to step up to the A-Spec with Technology Package to get those features. However, shoppers still need to go to that trim level to get a head-up display and upgraded 16-speaker ELS audio system (a generic-brand eight-speaker system is standard). The other big update applies to the A-Spec model, which gets a body kit, 18-inch wheels, and ambient lighting. That changed in 2020, and every season since has seen major shake-ups. According to a reportedly full schedule first shared by The Athletic, that pattern will continue into 2026. Major changes include the announced new race at San Diego's Coronado Naval base and a return to the Chicagoland Speedway, which effectively replaces the now-paused street circuit event in downtown Chicago. Other differences include Dover's one-mile concrete oval becoming the host of the non-championship All-Star Race and North Wilkesboro's resurrected short track returning to the regular season calendar after previously holding that event. Another major change is Homestead-Miami's return to hosting the final round of the playoffs, a change first reported in April. That event replaces the finale at Phoenix, which took over for Homestead starting in the 2020 season. Mexico City's Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, a major addition to the 2025 schedule, joins Chicago in being dropped for the 2026 calendar. Arrest warrants have been issued for two women who did not show up at court for sentencing after they stole Jellycat toys worth thousands of pounds. Warrants without bail were issued for Sarah Jordan, 35, of no fixed abode, and Amber Clarke, 24, of Nine Elms, south-west London, after they failed to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. Clarke had previously pleaded guilty to 16 counts of theft from shops in south and south-west London, including the theft of nearly £4,500 worth of Jellycat soft toys. Jordan was due to be sentenced for eight counts of theft in Kingston upon Thames and Wimbledon between December 2024 to May 2025. Jordan's convictions include six counts of theft where she was said to have stolen numerous Jellycats valued at a total of £1,716.57. Clarke's thefts also included "a number of soft toys" to the value of £100 from a Waterstones in Lambeth and grocery and laundry items from other locations. She also pleaded guilty to a charge of obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of their duty, assault by beating, failure to surrender for a previous hearing at the same court and assaulting an emergency worker.
