Ngày 23/8, trao đổi với PV VietNamNet, ông Nguyễn Văn Viện, Viện trưởng VKSND tỉnh Hưng Yên cho biết, đơn vị vừa ra quyết định thay đổi biện pháp ngăn chặn từ tạm giam sang cấm đi khỏi nơi cư trú đối với bị cáo Thái Khắc Thành. "Hiện anh Thành đã được phép trở về nhà, chờ xét xử phúc thẩm", ông Viện nói. Trước đó, Chánh án TAND tỉnh Hưng Yên có văn bản kiến nghị Viện trưởng VKSND tỉnh Hưng Yên, đề nghị kháng nghị bản án hình sự sơ thẩm vụ án “Vi phạm quy định về bảo vệ động vật nguy cấp, quý hiếm”. Trong kiến nghị nêu rõ: TAND tỉnh Hưng Yên kiến nghị Viện trưởng VKSND tỉnh kháng nghị Bản án hình sự sơ thẩm số 35/2025/HSST ngày 08/8/2025 của TAND khu vực 5 - Hưng Yên theo quy định của pháp luật, để TAND tỉnh xem xét lại toàn bộ vụ án và bản án sơ thẩm. Ngay khi nhận được nhiều thông tin phản ánh khác nhau trên mạng xã hội, Chánh án TAND tỉnh Hưng Yên đã phối hợp với Viện trưởng VKSND tỉnh và lãnh đạo Công an tỉnh để nắm bắt toàn bộ nội dung vụ án; yêu cầu Chánh án TAND khu vực 5, Viện trưởng VKSND khu vực 5 và Thẩm phán – Chủ tọa phiên tòa, Kiểm sát viên – kiểm sát xét xử và thực hành quyền công tố tại phiên tòa báo cáo giải trình. Ảnh: NVCC Theo hồ sơ vụ án, năm 2022, Thái Khắc Thành tìm hiểu thông tin trên mạng xã hội, biết gà lôi trắng là động vật nguy cấp, quý hiếm cần được bảo tồn, không được nuôi, nhốt, mua bán và có giá trị cao nên nảy sinh ý định nhân giống bán để lấy tiền chi tiêu. Năm 2024, Thành mua trên mạng xã hội 1 cá thể gà lôi trống của một người không quen biết ở Cần Thơ với giá 4,5 triệu đồng. Sau đó, cũng qua mạng xã hội, Thành liên hệ và trao đổi với một người không quen biết ở huyện Diễn Châu, tỉnh Nghệ An để đổi một con chim chích chòe lửa mà mình đang nuôi lấy hai con gà lôi mái của người này, đưa về nuôi chung với con gà lôi trống đã mua trước đó. Quá trình nuôi, Thành không đăng ký với cơ quan có thẩm quyền về việc nuôi những con gà lôi trên. Sau khi nuôi, các con gà lôi mái đẻ được 13 trứng, ấp nở ra được 10 gà con, 3 trứng bị hỏng. Đến tháng 3/2025, muốn bán gà lôi con lấy tiền, Thành đã dùng Facebook cá nhân đăng tải hình ảnh gà lôi và kèm nội dung: "Bữa bạn nào hỏi gà cảnh thì bữa này đã có hai đàn rồi. Có ai lấy thì nhắn tin lại mình". Ngoài ra, Thành còn đăng hai bài lên hội nhóm chuyên về chim, con giống quý hiếm với nội dung: "Có ai bảo tồn không..", kèm theo hình ảnh chụp gà lôi bố mẹ và gà lôi con. Ngày 26/3, Thành nhận tin nhắn của tài khoản lạ không rõ tên, tuổi, địa chỉ, hỏi mua 10 con gà lôi con. Hai bên thống nhất giá 500.000 đồng/con, số tiền phải thanh toán là 5 triệu đồng. Do gà con còn non, nên người mua nhờ Thành nuôi thêm mấy ngày với tiền công nuôi là 1 triệu đồng và hẹn thời gian giao gà vào ngày 2/4. Thành sau đó dùng số tài khoản ngân hàng của vợ Nguyễn Thị Oanh để nhận 2 triệu đồng tiền cọc từ một tài khoản tên Bùi Tuấn Anh (trú xã Minh Lãng, huyện Vũ Thư, tỉnh Thái Bình cũ). Số tiền còn lại 4 triệu đồng và 2,6 triệu đồng cước xe vận chuyển sẽ thanh toán nốt sau khi người mua nhận đủ. Đến 7h ngày 1/4, Thành gọi điện cho Thái Đình Sơn (trú huyện Đô Lương cũ) thuê vận chuyển số gà nói trên để giao cho khách. Sơn đồng ý và thống nhất lấy tiền công giao gà là 2,6 triệu đồng. Khoảng 15h cùng ngày, anh Sơn nhận được cuộc gọi từ số điện thoại lạ, bảo chở gà đến huyện Vũ Thư, tỉnh Thái Bình. Do mắt kém, đường xa, nên Sơn thuê anh Hoàng Văn Truyền (SN 1991, cùng quê) chở gà của Thành ra giao ở Thái Bình với tiền công là 2,5 triệu đồng. Khoảng 7h ngày 2/4, xe ô tô chở theo 10 con gà con, chạy đến đường ĐH07, thuộc thôn Quý Sơn, xã Song An, huyện Vũ Thư, tỉnh Thái Bình (cũ) bị Công an tỉnh Thái Bình kiểm tra, thu giữ số gà nói trên. Khám xét nhà ở của Thái Khắc Thành, Cơ quan CSĐT Công an tỉnh Thái Bình thu giữ thêm 3 con gà lôi. Kết quả giám định ngày 2/4 của Bảo tàng Thiên nhiên Việt Nam, Viện Hàn lâm Khoa học và Công nghệ Việt Nam kết luận, 13 con gà là loài gà lôi trắng, tên khoa học Lophura nycthemera, thuộc lớp chim (Aves), bộ gà (Galliformes), họ trĩ (Phasianidae). Gà lôi trắng là loài chim được ghi nhận trong Phụ lục I, nhóm IB, Nghị định 84/2021 của Chính phủ về quản lý thực vật rừng, động vật rừng nguy cấp, quý, hiếm, và thực thi Công ước về buôn bán quốc tế các loài động vật, thực vật hoang dã nguy cấp. Trao đổi với VietNamNet, một lãnh đạo Cục TDTT cho biết vụ việc xảy ra với U21 Việt Nam tại giải U21 bóng chuyền vô địch thế giới là rất đáng tiếc. Tuy nhiên, án phạt của LĐBC thế giới (FIVB) với U21 Việt Nam chưa từng có tiền lệ ở một giải đấu tầm thế giới. "Chúng tôi chưa biết FIVB đưa ra án phạt dựa vào căn cứ nào. Án phạt được đưa ra khi U21 Việt Nam đang thi đấu. VĐV được đưa đi kiểm tra đáng lẽ phải ở trước giải hay sau giải. Đây là điều chưa từng có ở các giải đấu trước đây", lãnh đạo Cục TDTT nói. Cũng theo lãnh đạo này, hiện chưa rõ VĐV Việt Nam bị cấm thi đấu đã vi phạm quy định nào tại giải. Phía FIVB không đưa ra bất cứ thông tin nào, mà chỉ khẳng định rằng "LĐBC Việt Nam và VĐV sẽ được mời cung cấp quan điểm bằng văn bản. Trong sáng 13/8, LĐBC Việt Nam (VFV) chính thức thông tin về vụ việc liên quan đến quyết định xử phạt của FIVB liên quan tới VĐV bị cho là không đủ điều kiện tham gia giải bóng chuyền nữ U21 thế giới 2025 tại Indonesia. VFV khẳng định đã tuân thủ các quy định của FIVB về thủ tục đăng ký VĐV cũng như nộp đầy đủ hồ sơ VĐV cho FIVB trước giải đấu. Hồ sơ này được FIVB xem xét và chấp thuận, cho phép các VĐV tham gia thi đấu. Tuy nhiên, quyết định về VĐV không đủ điều kiện thi đấu của FIVB được đưa ra dựa trên yêu cầu bổ sung hồ sơ và một số điều kiện đối với VĐV trong ngày 12/8. Đây là các điều kiện chưa từng được quy định trước đây đối với các VĐV của đội tuyển Việt Nam. "VFV đang tiến hành khiếu nại chính thức theo quy trình của FIVB, đồng thời phối hợp với các cơ quan có thẩm quyền của Việt Nam để làm rõ và bảo vệ quyền lợi của VĐV cũng như uy tín của bóng chuyền Việt Nam", thông báo của VFV khẳng định. Crime data released Aug. 11 shows short-term improvements in Downtown, but Over-the-Rhine is still struggling with property crime and homicides. Month over month, Downtown saw a 26% reduction in serious violent crime and property crime, from a total of 129 to 96 offenses. However, yearly totals still show a 48% increase compared to 2024, from 482 to 715. Over-the-Rhine saw a 4% increase in serious violent and property crime month over month, from 94 to 98 offenses. The neighborhood saw a 38% increase for the year, from 465 to 644 offenses. A spike in violent crime in Cincinnati's urban core was revealed in the wake of the killing of Over-the-Rhine business owner Patrick Heringer. His wife claimed the city was putting optics over outcomes when it came to policing. Since then, Cincinnati police have launched a roving task force, a drone program, more visible patrols and several other programs aimed at increasing safety in the neighborhoods where residents come to work and visit for entertainment: Downtown and Over-the-Rhine. More: City leaders say crime is 'stabilizing' as criminals take notice of new police task force Year to date, most crime categories are still elevated in both Downtown and Over-the-Rhine. As of Aug. 9, there had been eight homicides in Over-the-Rhine compared to just three last year. Robberies are up 60% in Downtown but down over 7% in Over-the-Rhine. Aggravated assaults are up 47% in Downtown but down 21% in Over-the-Rhine. While this year was worse than last year, there have been recent reductions, particularly in Downtown. Comparing the beginning of the summer, June 15 to July 12, to the middle of the summer, July 13 to Aug. 9, shows improvements: Slightly fewer robberies, aggravated assaults and auto thefts in Downtown from a total of 22 offenses to 17. With a 5-1 win over the San Francisco Giants, the Padres tied the Los Angeles Dodgers atop the NL West, in which they once trailed by as many as 8.5 games on July 2. The Volkswagen Golf GTI is about to celebrate its 50th birthday, and it was one of the pioneers of the segment. There is some history with the Civic Type R as well. The first Honda Civic Type R was introduced in 1997, based on the 6th-generation Civic, and was initially available only in Japan as a three-door hatchback. The EPA estimates that the Civic Type R gets 22 mpg city and 28 mpg on the highway. They both ride and drive completely differently, but in a positive way. The GTI has a remarkably balanced chassis, and it takes a lot to upset the apple cart. If you get adaptive dampers, you can achieve further separation from harshness. At the same time, when dialed in, the GTI feels almost like a BMW in terms of stiffness, response, and swagger. I feel like the steering should have more heft to it, but you always know where your wheels are pointing, and it makes for easy daily driving. The Honda Civic Type R, on the other hand, is a bit of a beast. Sure, you could daily it and use it year-round, but the ride is stiff, and the chassis will remind you of every bump you passed over. Then again, it is a wonderful car to drive in anger, with outstanding reflexes and gobs of extra power. Very few sports cars can keep up with a Type R on a mountain road, and the steering is one of the best in class. If you like heavy steering, this is your car. The Volkswagen Golf GTI used to be an angular, yet sexy little box that oozed German design. Looking at it now, the front end feels like an afterthought. I am sad to see it look almost frumpy at the nose. The rest looks like a VW Golf, and the wheels are nice, but it has lost something. As for the Honda Civic Type R, all I can say is that it grew up a bit, but it still looks like an average Civic until you get closer. That's acceptable for the Civic Si, but not for something far more expensive. To be fair, it looks cool at the rear with its wider fenders, but the nose and profile still look a bit mellow to me. Once again, I know it's subjective, and I'm nitpicking. The supportive plaid-pattern seats are extremely comfortable and a nod to its heritage. There is now a massive 12.9-inch touchscreen for infotainment, yet Volkswagen still omits a proper volume knob in favor of a sliding setup, which works poorly. The back seat space is excellent, as is its 52.7 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded down. Inside, the Type R sports bright red bucket seats, aluminum trim, and performance-focused gauges to signal its racing pedigree. The sport seats are a bit confining and tight for larger people, but offer outstanding support when driving aggressively. The 2025 Honda Civic Type R features a 9-inch color touchscreen for its infotainment system along with a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. Back seat space is good, and the Honda Civic Type R offers a maximum cargo space of 46.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. Simply put, I wanted the flagship front-wheel-drive hot hatch from each brand. There are worthy vehicles in this class that may or may not be hatchbacks from Toyota, Hyundai, and others, but these two are icons. My takeaway is that the VW Golf GTI is far more versatile and refined, and you're not sacrificing comfort or practicality, but the loss of the manual means you're missing out on some of the fun. It lacks that old soul.
