Tại hiện trường, khoảng 4.800m² đất đã bị lượng lớn rác thải đổ lên, bốc mùi hôi thối. Mở rộng điều tra, công an làm việc với Nguyễn Hoàng Hoài Nguyên - Giám đốc Công ty Phương Đông Building. Hiện trường khu vực đổ trái phép rác thải. Ảnh: CA Nguyên thừa nhận công ty được giao thu gom rác tại xã Tam An (huyện Long Đất cũ, nay là Long Điền, TPHCM) để đưa đi xử lý tại Phú Mỹ. Tuy nhiên, từ tháng 4/2025, Nguyên đã chỉ đạo Tuấn lợi dụng việc thu gom, chở rác về đổ trái phép tại Long Hải. Sau đó, công ty thuê xe ben vận chuyển đi nơi khác nhằm che giấu hành vi. Trước đó, Công ty Phương Đông Building từng bị UBND huyện Long Đất (cũ) xử phạt hành chính 65 triệu đồng về hành vi trên, buộc khắc phục hậu quả theo Quyết định số 1709/QĐ-XPHC ngày 9/4/2025. Bộ Xây dựng vừa phê duyệt đề án khai thác tài sản kết cấu hạ tầng giao thông đường bộ đối với tuyến cao tốc Hòa Liên - Túy Loan và các tuyến cao tốc Bắc Nam phía Đông giai đoạn 2021-2025. Theo đó, 13 dự án cao tốc do Nhà nước đầu tư gồm Bãi Vọt - Hàm Nghi, Hàm Nghi - Vũng Áng, Vũng Áng - Bùng, Bùng - Vạn Ninh, Vạn Ninh - Cam Lộ, Hòa Liên - Túy Loan, Quảng Ngãi - Hoài Nhơn, Hoài Nhơn - Quy Nhơn, Quy Nhơn - Chí Thạnh, Chí Thạnh - Vân Phong, Vân Phong - Nha Trang, Cần Thơ - Hậu Giang, Hậu Giang - Cà Mau sẽ được thu phí trong 7 năm kể từ ngày bắt đầu vận hành. 18 tuyến cao tốc do nhà nước đầu tư dự kiến sẽ thu phí từ tháng 1 năm 2026. Ngoài ra, Bộ Xây dựng đã phê duyệt đề án khai thác với 5 dự án cao tốc Bắc Nam giai đoạn 1 được đầu tư bằng vốn ngân sách, để bắt đầu thu phí từ tháng 1/2026 gồm Mai Sơn - quốc lộ 45, quốc lộ 45 - Nghi Sơn, Nghi Sơn - Diễn Châu, Vĩnh Hảo - Phan Thiết, Phan Thiết - Dầu Giây. Trước đó, tại đề án khai thác tài sản kết cấu hạ tầng giao thông, Cục Đường bộ Việt Nam đề xuất 2 mức thu phí. Trong đó mức thu 1.300 đồng/km với xe tiêu chuẩn, áp dụng với đường cao tốc đủ điều kiện thu phí gồm 4 làn xe, có làn dừng khẩn cấp liên tục và 900 đồng/km đối với đường cao tốc có 4 làn xe nhưng làn dừng khẩn cấp không liên tục. Thu phí cao tốc Diễn Châu - Bãi Vọt từ ngày 5/1 Sau gần 8 tháng phục vụ miễn phí cho khoảng 3,5 triệu lượt ô tô, cao tốc Diễn Châu - Bãi Vọt sẽ chính thức thu phí từ 0h ngày 5/1 để hoàn vốn cho dự án. The family of a woman who was shot and killed by a security guard on the campus of Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Los Angeles in May is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the school, the shooting suspect, and other parties. Police say Dr. Cameisha Clark, a graduate of Clark Atlanta University, who had recently been promoted to Interim Dean of Student Affairs at Spartan College, was attacked in the college’s administrative offices on May 2 by campus security guard Jesse Figueroa. Police say Figueroa shot Clark and a co-worker with a handgun. Figueroa ran after the shooting but was captured by police hours later. Clark was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries. Her co-worker survived the shooting. An actor whose mother was the victim of a murder-suicide in France has urged her friends not to attend his stepdad's funeral. Callum Kerr, who appeared in Hollyoaks and Netflix's Virgin River, said it would be "inappropriate" for the memory of his mother, Dawn Searle, to be associated with her husband Andrew Searle. The couple's bodies were discovered by a neighbour at their country home in the Aveyron region on 6 February. The prosecutor in charge of the case previously told the BBC it was murder followed by suicide and there was no evidence that another person was involved. The statement, issued on Kerr's Instagram account on behalf of the actor and his sister Amanda, comes more than six months after the couple were found dead. It is unclear why it has taken so long for Mr Searle's body to be released by the French authorities or when his funeral is scheduled to take place. NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Years after a lawsuit alleged that New Mexico wasn’t doing enough for children in foster care, the state is still failing to meet a number of agreements in the Kevin S. Settlement. On Tuesday, the lawyers in charge of monitoring the implementation of the settlement told lawmakers the state is not holding up its end of the bargain giving examples like, the state not performing all the mandatory screenings for children in custody and moving kids in custody an average of six times, instead of three, as agreed upon in the settlement. NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A major ruling by a federal appeals court has blocked New Mexico’s seven-day waiting period on gun purchases, and while some officials are disappointed, others are cheering the decision. In a 2-1 ruling, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the law likely infringes on the Second Amendment and sent the case back down to a lower court. It was an overreach that targeted law-abiding citizens. It did nothing to push back on the crime in New Mexico,” said Sen. Brantley. That sentiment was shared by fellow state Senator Bill Sharer (R-Farmington), in a statement, Sharer said, “Criminals certainly don’t wait seven days before breaking into our homes and threatening our families and properties. What sense does it make to require law-abiding citizens to wait seven days before being able to defend themselves?” Senator Brantley did say she hopes both sides of the aisle can come together to tackle New Mexico’s crime problem. “As we move forward, that’s what we’re looking forward to doing, is actually reducing the number of repeat criminals that are plaguing the state of New Mexico,” said Brantley. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham also released a statement on the ruling: Today’s decision by the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals is deeply disappointing, plainly wrong and likely to cost lives in New Mexico. New Mexico’s waiting period law was carefully crafted to minimize gun violence while respecting Second Amendment rights. The dissenting opinion in today’s ruling even notes that New Mexico’s law “is likely to save approximately thirty-seven lives per year.” This ruling ignores a recent binding Tenth Circuit precedent that upheld Colorado’s law barring gun purchases by anyone under the age of 21—a law that requires 18-year-olds to wait three years to purchase a weapon. The ruling also mischaracterizes New Mexico’s gun purchase waiting period, saying it applies to “everyone” when, in fact, it doesn’t apply to those who sell guns to immediate family members, those with a concealed carry permit, and law enforcement officers. The evidence is clear––waiting periods prevent impulsive acts of violence and suicide, giving people time to step back and reassess their emotions during moments of crisis. I’m disappointed that today’s ruling doesn’t take this into account.
