The New York Mets have a new home run king. Pete Alonso hit a two-run blast off Atlanta Braves starter Spencer Strider on Tuesday, extending New York's lead to 5-1 in the bottom of the third inning. Alonso broke the record in front of an appreciative Citi Field home crowd that celebrated the achievement with a standing ovation. Then he hit another one in the sixth inning. The solo shot off of reliever Austin Cox extended New York's lead again, this time to 11-5. It also extended his new Mets record to 254 home runs. His second home run of the night again sent Citi Field into a frenzy. Strawberry went on to tally 335 home runs in a career that also included stints with the Dodgers, Giants and Yankees. But his 252 with the Mets previously stood as the franchise record. Alonso, 30, re-signed with the Mets on a two-year, $54 million contract in the offseason and will presumably have plenty of opportunities to add to his now-franchise-record home run tally. Alonso led the NL with 53 home runs in his rookie campaign in 2019. In the years since then, he has remained one of baseball's premier sluggers, with 34-plus home runs in each season that wasn't shortened by COVID-19. Tuesday's home runs was Alonso's 27th and 28th of the season in his 118th game, putting him well on pace to eclipse 30 home runs again, with 43 games remaining on New York's schedule. BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Louisiana Attorney General announced that the United States Supreme Court set a date to hear rearguments in the state’s redistricting case. AG Liz Murrill shared that the Court scheduled the reargument for Wednesday, Oct. 15. Louisiana Solicitor General Ben Aguiñaga will argue the case on behalf of the state. She added that the state’s brief is due in two weeks. Timeline of the CaseIn January 2024, the Louisiana legislature approved a new congressional map that created a second majority-Black district. That same month, a group of non-Black voters filed a lawsuit in the Western District of Louisiana, claiming that the map didn’t meet the Equal Protection Clause requirements and said the layout was an “impermissible racial gerrymander.” A three-judge panel decided to throw out the new map, as it cuts the 4th district, covering western Louisiana, in half with the 6th district. In May 2024, the lawsuit was headed to the Supreme Court, where it was granted an emergency stay, allowing the state to use the new map for the 2024 elections. By November 2024, the Supreme Court granted certiorari in the state’s appeal. The first oral arguments were heard on March 24, 2025. The Supreme Court was divided on its decision. Some justices suggested throwing out the map and making it harder to bring redistricting lawsuits under the Voting Rights Act. On June 27, the Supreme Court ordered a re-argument, asking for additional clarity on constitutional questions, including whether the district could violate the 14th or 15th Amendments. Both parties were ordered to file briefs on Aug. 1. The Appellants must submit the briefs by Aug. 27. (KRON) — A 32-year-old Milpitas man and a second man drowned in the Colorado River during a pontoon boat excursion in Arizona, officials said. The victims were identified by sheriff’s officials and family members as Venkata Srinivas Mukkaala of Milpitas, and Anoop Gankidi, 32 of Tempe, Arizona. The double drowning happened at Topock Gorge on Sunday, August 3, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office officials said. Investigators said Mukkaala, Gankidi, and three other swimmers had rented a pontoon boat. After the group left the pontoon boat on a beach, they entered the Colorado River to swim and cool off from the sun. “Three of them slipped underwater and began to struggle. One of the occupants was able to get back to the shallow area, however Gankidi and Mukkaala did not resurface,” MCSO wrote. Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department arrived first on scene and deployed an underwater diver. “The two victims had been underwater for approximately 20 minutes when divers arrived on scene,” MCSO wrote. Mukkaala and Gankidi were found 12 feet below the river’s surface and divers pulled them out of the water. Illinois students could be held to new standards for school testing, a shift the state school board says will better prepare them for college and postsecondary education careers while accurately measuring performance levels. The Illinois State Board of Education announced proposed changes to state standardized testing Tuesday — including the ACT, the Illinois Assessment of Readiness and the Illinois Science Assessment — that would create consistent measures of student performance on all state exams and make it easier to understand and track students’ progress. It would also adjust the proficiency threshold for each exam section based on grade level, determining the minimum score a student must achieve to be considered on track for their grade level in learning. There are three major exams that Illinois students take while in school: The Illinois Assessment of Readiness is administered to students in grades three through eight each year to test their skills in English language arts and math, while the Illinois Science Assessment is only administered to students in fifth and eighth grades. Students take the PreACT in ninth and 10th grade and the ACT in 11th grade. Currently, the three exams do not use the same levels or benchmarks to assess student learning based on their exam scores. The current testing measurements have multiple performance levels for students to be sorted into, which are categories of score ranges on the state assessment. The varied scores from test to test can create confusion for parents and students due to the lack of consistency, Illinois State Superintendent of Education Tony Sanders said at a Tuesday media briefing. The change will allow the board to alleviate this confusion with a proposed new uniform scoring system on each test: “below proficient,” “approaching proficient,” “proficient” and “above proficient.” While the Illinois Science Assessment evaluates students in four levels — emerging, developing, proficient and exemplary — the Illinois Assessment of Readiness places students into five categories based on their scores: “does not meet” (expectations), “partially meets,” “approaching meets,” “meets expectations” and “exceeds expectations.” A student is considered proficient when they are on track for their grade level in learning, and a proficiency benchmark is the score a student needs to be on track in their grade. The state determines these benchmarks. According to the board, there is currently a mismatch between proficiency thresholds in the different sections of exams — English language arts, science and math. The threshold for proficiency in science according to a student’s exam score is too low, while the proficiency threshold for a student in English language arts and math is too high. This resulted in students excelling in class but not reaching the proficiency mark on exams, which can lead to discouragement in students when they think about their future options postgraduation, Sanders said. He gave the example of multiple former students, now in college, who excelled in advanced placement classes and had high GPAs but did not receive proficient scores on state standardized tests. “If they had listened to us, they might not have enrolled in college. Maybe they wouldn’t even have enrolled in dual credit (classes) while they were still in high school,” Sanders said. “… Thankfully, they didn’t listen to what these cut scores told them and instead pursued these higher opportunities. But think about the kids that did not.” That all three required standardized tests — the ACT, Illinois Assessment of Readiness and Illinois Science Assessment — have different benchmarks for proficiency creates a sense of inconsistency and does not accurately reflect a student’s level of college or career readiness, Sanders said. “They’re misaligned with what it actually means to succeed in college and career,” Sanders said. “This misalignment has serious, real-world consequences. Students are being denied opportunities for acceleration, misidentified as needing interventions or believing, as I said earlier, that they’re not ready to go into college.” This discrepancy in results can be confusing for families and students trying to determine readiness levels for classes, college or careers, especially when they do well in school but do not meet the state’s level of proficiency. The new measurements aim to change that, Sanders said. For English language arts in the Illinois Assessment of Readiness, the proficiency threshold would be lowered from 750 to 735, increasing by two points each grade until they take the exam for the last time in grade eight. The proficiency threshold for math on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness would also be lowered from 750 to 732. The proficiency levels for the math section would rise to 740 for grades four and five, 742 for grade six, and 745 for grades seven and eight. As for the Illinois Science Assessment, which is administered only to fifth and eighth graders, students will have to increase their scores to 812 to be considered proficient. The current proficiency score is 799. This shift required the establishment of new performance standards for high schools. For students in grade nine taking the PreACT, an English language arts section score of 14 is proficient, while a math section score of 17 and a science section score of 14 meet proficiency standards. There are no prior proficiency levels to measure the proposed scores against because the state switched to the ACT this spring, the board said. For grade 10 students, a PreACT English language arts section score of 15, a math section score of 18 and a science section score of 16 would be proficient. Additionally, the proposed changes aim to align students taking the ACT in their junior year of high school with the scores necessary to get into college, pass college coursework and succeed in the workforce, the board said. The ACT is scored out of 36 and has an English language arts, math and science section. The new proficiency scores would be an English language arts score of 18, a math score of 19 and a science score of 19. The board spoke with educators, community members, student leaders and policy makers over an 18-month period to create new rubrics describing the range of performance expected in each performance level. Educators also took the exams to evaluate their difficulty and help determine what are known as “cut scores” — the scores that differentiate one performance level from another, such as “proficient” from “above proficient.” While two-thirds of Illinois high school graduates go on to enroll in a two- or four-year college within a year of graduating, the current state assessment levels indicate that less than half that number of students are proficient in English language arts, and an even smaller number are proficient in math. The updated proficiency standards and performance levels help capture “the full spectrum of skills students are developing,” CPS sixth grade teacher Comfort Agboola said at the meeting. “(The standards) acknowledge growth in ways that can motivate rather than discourage,” Agboola said. “When students believe they are proficient or see themselves as getting closer, they are more willing to take risks, engage deeply with challenging text and push themselves further than they thought was possible.” Scott Rowe, superintendent of High School District 214 in the Arlington Heights area, added at the meeting that these changes would help accurately reflect a student’s readiness and allow school districts to know where more support might be needed. “Past benchmarks often miss the mark, but this step moves us closer to measuring real performance and readiness,” Rowe said. “It also tells a more accurate story of the high quality instruction and postsecondary readiness our teachers are delivering for our communities across the state.” View the full article

New Uvalde school district records released late Monday provide more details about campus safety concerns raised before the deadly 2022 Robb Elementary school shooting — and reveal in a few teachers’ own words how traumatized they remained after the massacre. The documents also indicate that the 18-year-old shooter had exhibited inappropriate school behavior, struggled academically and was often absent when he was an Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District student. The materials — more than 200 megabytes — are part of the latest document disclosure by a government agency involved in the flawed response to the deadliest school shooting in Texas history. The release was part of a settlement agreement in a yearslong lawsuit news organizations, including ProPublica and The Texas Tribune, brought against state and local governments. The records include messages from school district officers who responded to the shooting, in which 19 students and two teachers were killed. The documents reveal little new information about several law enforcement agencies’ failure to more quickly confront the gunman. ProPublica and The Tribune previously found that officers wrongly treated the shooter as a barricaded subject, rather than an active threat, and waited 77 minutes to confront him. No officer took control of the response, which prevented coordination and communication between agencies. None of the school district police officers were wearing body cameras that day because the district had not issued them the equipment, so no new video or audio was released Monday. In one email released Monday, a fourth-grade Robb teacher wrote to the district superintendent about how terrified she was during the shooting, as she tried to keep her students safe while bullets ricocheted around her. According to a Texas House committee’s investigation into the shooting, the teacher was in a classroom across the hall from the adjoining classrooms where the gunaman killed all of his victims and was barricaded. “I fell on the floor and began knocking desks over onto my legs so I wouldn’t make noise, but I couldn’t block the students from bullets,” she emailed the former district superintendent, who retired after the shooting. “I told my students I loved them. I told them to stay quiet, and I told them to pray.” ProPublica and The Tribune could not reach the teacher late Monday. The records release is “an important step toward giving the community and public the answers they deserve,” said Laura Prather, a media law chair for Haynes Boone who represented the news organizations in the legal fight for records. “The court's ruling makes clear that government agencies cannot hide behind vague legal claims to withhold public information.” The documents released Monday show that days after the shooting, Hal Harrell, who was superintendent at the time, emailed himself a media report about the timeline detailing the 77 minutes the gunman spent barricaded while law enforcement waited to confront him. The Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office has also agreed to release body camera footage and other records, but had not done so by late Monday. The Texas Department of Public Safety, which dispatched more than 90 officers to the school, has appealed a judge’s order to release hundreds of videos and investigative files. Prather said the media coalition continues fighting for the release of the state law enforcement agency’s records. “Three years is already too long to wait for truth and transparency that could prevent future tragedies,” Prather said. ProPublica and The Tribune previously published 911 calls that showed the increasing desperation of children and teachers pleading to be saved and revealed how officers’ fear of the shooter’s AR-15 prevented them from acting more quickly. In a collaboration with FRONTLINE that included a documentary, the newsrooms showed that while the children in Uvalde were prepared, following what they had learned in their active shooter drills, many of the more than 300 officers who responded were not. DPS spokesperson Sheridan Nolen wrote in an email Monday that the agency followed “its standard protocol in which it does not release records that will impact pending prosecutions.” Two former Uvalde schools police officers were indicted on child endangerment charges last summer over how they responded to the shooting. That includes Pete Arredondo, who was the district’s police chief during the shooting and has been widely faulted for the delay in confronting the gunman. Uvalde District Attorney Christina Mitchell, who is leading the criminal investigation, did not return requests for comment. Spokespeople for the school district and county also did not immediately respond. Former Uvalde mayor Don McLaughlin, now a Republican member of the Texas House, called it “ludicrous” that the news organizations had to launch a legal fight to obtain records. He added that DPS should also release its information so that the victims’ families could get much-needed answers. “Maybe there’s something in there that we can keep this from happening again,” he said. “This was a costly mistake, and so I believe everybody should just release their records and give these families not closure, but at least another piece of what went on that day.” McLaughlin said he repeatedly asked DPS about releasing the information since starting his term in Austin this year. “I basically was told it was up to the lawyers what they could and couldn't do,” he said. “I don't know what could be top secret in these reports that could hinder them being released.” “I tried to stay calm”The teacher in the classroom across the hall from the gunman wrote in her email to the superintendent that she was convinced she was going to die. “I physically sat almost laying myself on my students and in front of them to be sure I could block them from bullets,” she said in an email. “I knew I would die that day. I had shrapnel in my back from when he shot in my window. I had blood all over the back of me, but I tried to stay calm for my students.” The teacher wrote about how much she loved her students and working for the district. But she also noted that no school officials ever reached out to her immediately after the shooting. She wrote that she and other staff were asked not to talk to the media. A month after the shooting, Elsa Avila, a fourth-grade teacher who survived being shot, finally felt ready to ask about what was happening to her classroom. “Is it being packed up, if so what will happen with my personal belongings?” Avila wrote in an email to the school’s principal. “The students had piñatas they were working on, were those salvaged or did they get thrown away?” Avila said in the email that it was hard to accept that she may never get answers to many of her questions about the shooting. “So I guess I can start with answers about my classroom," she said. In a Monday evening interview, Avila said school leaders did not reach out to her directly while she was in the hospital. She also said the district should have released records sooner and that she hopes other agencies will follow. Still, she said, the government’s actions are lacking “any follow up.” “There were hundreds of officers there, so, to me, it still does not make sense that they only charged two officers,” she said. “Will there ever be any true accountability from other agencies? Because more people would need to be held accountable, more agencies need to be held accountable than just the two officers that they charged.” Longstanding lock issuesThe new records also show that school administrators had been aware of longstanding issues with locks on campus doors. Multiple witnesses told the legislative panel that employees often left doors unlocked, while teachers would use rocks, wedges and magnets to prop open interior and exterior doors. The shooter was able to enter the school through an unlocked exterior door, according to the legislative investigation. According to emails released Monday, administrators had met with the owner of a lock company to discuss purchasing automatic locks for the district’s exterior doors a little less than a month before the shooting. Emails sent after the shooting occurred showed cost estimates in the millions of dollars for installing new exterior doors, hardened windows, fencing and other security infrastructure. The shooting spurred multiple local, state and federal investigations as more than 300 officers from about two dozen agencies responded to the scene. Troubled historyThe new school district documents also include previously withheld information about the shooter, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos. A Texas House committee report found that he had a tumultuous relationship with his family, including his mother, and likely suffered mental health issues. That investigation also said he was a victim of bullying at school in part due to his lisp, poverty and chaotic family life. The emails released Monday show district officials raising alarms about Ramos hitting another student and using sexual language. In 2018, for example, his mother was warned that he was drawing inappropriate pictures as part of a classroom assignment, just one of many such warnings that teachers would send over the years, according to the emails and the state House committee report. In another email, former superintendent Hal Harrell noted that Ramos was routinely failing classes and barely attending school. Academic intervention plans recommended one-on-one tutoring and parent conferences, however it is unclear what actions district officials or Ramos’ guardians ever took. Intervention plans from the 2016-2017 school year largely list “behavior” as the reason for intervention. Ramos eventually dropped out. Two former officers face criminal chargesU.S. Customs and Border Protection, which sent at least 149 federal agents to the shooting, declined to release most records, although the agency was not involved in the newsrooms’ litigation. It issued its own report last September that mostly evaded blame. The school district’s records this week largely confirmed what a state House committee investigating the response had already found. The small school district police unit, led by Arrendondo, was unprepared. Arredondo, who could not be reached for comment, dropped his police radio going into the school and did not effectively take charge or communicate with other law enforcement, the report found. The newly-released documents include a string of messages between school district officials and Arredondo, who five days after the shooting said that he was invited to a briefing with former President Joe Biden but would be avoiding news outlets. Four months later, he was fired. Another text thread between school district officials shows Adrian Gonzales, a school police officer who would later face 29 charges related to child endangerment, being told to “go hang out at the park with the Seniors” hours before the shooting. Later in the same thread, a school secretary wrote at 11:40 a.m. that an individual reported hearing shots outside a school. “They went ahead and locked themselves down,” the text continued. Arrendondo then received texts at 1:07 p.m., after officers from a federal-led strike team killed the gunman, asking him if any students were injured and if the school’s secure status could be lifted. Gonzales, who also could not be reached for comment, was among the first officers to arrive at Robb. Late Monday, Gonzales’s attorneys filed a legal request seeking a trial outside of Uvalde, arguing “it would be impossible to gather a jury that would not view the evidence through their own pain and grief,” according to KSAT. Law enforcement experts largely regard the shooting response as among the worst in American history. A U.S. Justice Department report in January 2024 affirmed many of the newsrooms’ initial findings, and recommended that all officers in the country undergo at least eight hours of active shooter training annually. At the time, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland said, “Our children deserve better than to grow up in a country where an 18-year-old has easy access to a weapon that belongs on the battlefield, not in a classroom.” But, he added, “that is the terrible reality that we face. Thúc đẩy sản xuất nông, lâm, thủy sản gắn với xuất khẩu và tiêu dùng bền vững Bộ Nông nghiệp và Môi trường được giao chủ trì, phối hợp với các cơ quan, địa phương triển khai hiệu quả các giải pháp thúc đẩy sản xuất và cơ cấu lại ngành nông nghiệp gắn với đẩy mạnh nghiên cứu, ứng dụng khoa học công nghệ, đổi mới sáng tạo, chuyển đổi số; tổ chức sản xuất theo chuỗi giá trị; tiếp tục xây dựng nền nông nghiệp theo hướng "nông nghiệp sinh thái, nông thôn hiện đại, nông dân văn minh"; bảo đảm vững chắc an ninh lương thực quốc gia trong mọi tình huống. Thúc đẩy phát triển dịch vụ, du lịch và khai thác hiệu quả thị trường trong nước Bộ Công Thương được giao chủ trì, phối hợp với các cơ quan liên quan khẩn trương xây dựng nghị quyết về thúc đẩy phát triển thị trường trong nước, kích cầu tiêu dùng, đẩy mạnh Cuộc vận động người Việt Nam ưu tiên dùng hàng Việt Nam, báo cáo Chính phủ trong tháng 8; thực hiện thường xuyên, liên tục, hiệu quả công tác đấu tranh, đẩy lùi buôn lậu, gian lận thương mại, hàng giả, hàng nhái, hàng kém chất lượng, vi phạm sở hữu trí tuệ; nghiên cứu, xây dựng mô hình "Cảng miễn thuế" để đưa Việt Nam trở thành trung tâm logistics lớn, báo cáo cấp có thẩm quyền trong tháng 10; phấn đấu tăng trưởng thương mại điện tử cả năm đạt trên 25%... Bộ Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch chủ trì, phối hợp với các cơ quan liên quan đổi mới mạnh mẽ hoạt động xúc tiến, quảng bá du lịch, thu hút khách du lịch trong nước và quốc tế; phấn đấu cả năm 2025 đạt ít nhất 25 triệu lượt khách du lịch quốc tế, 150 triệu lượt khách du lịch nội địa; khẩn trương hoàn thiện Đề án phát triển công nghiệp giải trí, báo cáo Thủ tướng trước ngày 15/8; phê duyệt quyết định đầu tư Chương trình mục tiêu quốc gia phát triển văn hóa giai đoạn 2025-2035 trước ngày 10/9. Bộ Tài chính, các bộ, cơ quan, địa phương liên quan triển khai khẩn trương, hiệu quả nghị quyết của Quốc hội và kế hoạch hành động về xây dựng Trung tâm tài chính quốc tế tại Việt Nam, các nghị quyết của Quốc hội về xây dựng khu thương mại tự do, khu kinh tế biên giới tại một số địa phương trọng điểm. Bộ Tài chính chủ trì, phối hợp với các cơ quan liên quan trình Chính phủ trong tháng 8 dự thảo Nghị quyết thực hiện Kết luận 115-KL/TW của Bộ Chính trị về tiếp tục nâng cao hiệu quả quản lý, khai thác, sử dụng và phát huy các nguồn lực của nền kinh tế; khẩn trương trình cấp có thẩm quyền Đề án Phát triển kinh tế Nhà nước, bảo đảm đúng tiến độ yêu cầu; kịp thời giải quyết các khó khăn, vướng mắc của các dự án đầu tư nước ngoài. Tiếp tục phát huy hiệu quả hoạt động của Ban chỉ đạo 751 để tháo gỡ khó khăn, vướng mắc cho các dự án tồn đọng. Bộ Tài chính, Thanh tra Chính phủ khẩn trương thực hiện các nhiệm vụ được giao, trên cơ sở đó Bộ Tài chính xây dựng báo cáo của Đảng ủy Chính phủ, trong đó đề xuất các giải pháp đặc thù, đặc biệt để giải quyết dứt điểm các dự án vướng mắc, tồn đọng kéo dài, báo cáo Ban Thường vụ Đảng ủy Chính phủ trước ngày 15/8. Bộ Khoa học và Công nghệ, các bộ, cơ quan, địa phương khẩn trương triển khai các dự án khoa học công nghệ, đổi mới sáng tạo, chuyển đổi số đã được ngân sách Nhà nước bố trí kinh phí; phê duyệt danh mục để triển khai các dự án được bố trí bổ sung vốn từ nguồn tăng thu ngân sách Nhà nước năm 2024 để thực hiện ngay trong năm 2025; hoàn thiện Đề án quốc gia khởi nghiệp sáng tạo; trình Chính phủ dự thảo nghị định quy định quản lý đầu tư ứng dụng công nghệ thông tin sử dụng nguồn vốn ngân sách Nhà nước; xây dựng chính sách đãi ngộ đặc biệt để thu hút ít nhất 100 chuyên gia khoa học công nghệ hàng đầu về nước làm việc. Các bộ, cơ quan và địa phương phát triển hạ tầng dành cho các ngành công nghệ cao, sản xuất bền vững; chủ động có chính sách khuyến khích khu vực kinh tế tư nhân tham gia cùng Nhà nước vào các lĩnh vực chiến lược, các dự án, nhiệm vụ nghiên cứu khoa học trọng điểm, quan trọng quốc gia, những nhiệm vụ khẩn cấp, cấp bách... Ứng phó với chính sách thuế quan của Hoa Kỳ Để thực hiện nhiệm vụ này, Bộ Công thương chủ trì, phối hợp với các cơ quan liên quan tiếp tục đàm phán thương mại với Hoa Kỳ để đạt được cam kết thuận lợi nhất cho Việt Nam, hướng đến hiệp định thương mại toàn diện, tăng cường quan hệ kinh tế - thương mại Việt Nam - Hoa Kỳ theo hướng cân bằng và bền vững; triển khai nhanh các thỏa thuận thương mại đã ký, cam kết với Hoa Kỳ... Các tập đoàn kinh tế, tổng công ty Nhà nước phấn đấu tăng trưởng sản lượng hoặc doanh thu năm 2025 trên 10; tăng cường quản lý, kiểm soát chặt chẽ và nâng cao hiệu quả sử dụng dòng tiền, nguồn vốn; tập trung đẩy nhanh tiến độ triển khai các dự án hạ tầng trọng điểm, quy mô lớn, nhất là trong lĩnh vực giao thông, năng lượng, yêu cầu khẩn trương hoàn thành kịp tiến độ Thủ tướng đã giao như đường dây 500kV Lào Cai - Vĩnh Yên, cấp điện từ lưới điện quốc gia cho Côn Đảo; Cảng hàng không quốc tế Long Thành (giai đoạn 1) - thành phần 3… Các Phó Thủ tướng theo lĩnh vực được phân công phụ trách có trách nhiệm chỉ đạo các bộ, cơ quan, địa phương thực hiện Công điện này. Ủy ban Kiểm tra Đảng ủy Chính phủ và Thanh tra Chính phủ có kế hoạch hướng dẫn các Bộ, ngành, địa phương tự kiểm tra, giám sát, hoàn thành hướng dẫn báo cáo Phó Thủ tướng Thường trực Nguyễn Hòa Bình trong tháng 8; tiến hành giám sát, kiểm tra việc thực hiện các chỉ đạo của Thủ tướng trong tháng 9. Sáng 13/8, VFV chính thức thông tin về vụ việc liên quan đến quyết định của FIVB về trường hợp vận động viên bị cho là không đủ điều kiện tham gia Giải bóng chuyền nữ U21 Thế giới 2025 tại Indonesia. VFV khẳng định đã tuân thủ các quy định của FIVB về thủ tục đăng ký VĐV cũng như nộp đầy đủ hồ sơ VĐV cho FIVB trước giải đấu. Hồ sơ này đã được FIVB xem xét và chấp thuận, cho phép các VĐV tham gia thi đấu. Tuy nhiên, quyết định về VĐV không đủ điều kiện thi đấu của FIVB được đưa ra dựa trên yêu cầu bổ sung hồ sơ và một số điều kiện đối với VĐV trong ngày 12/8. Đây là các điều kiện chưa từng được quy định trước đây đối với các VĐV của đội tuyển Việt Nam. "VFV đang tiến hành khiếu nại chính thức theo quy trình của FIVB, đồng thời phối hợp với các cơ quan có thẩm quyền của Việt Nam để làm rõ và bảo vệ quyền lợi của VĐV cũng như uy tín của bóng chuyền Việt Nam", thông báo của VFV khẳng định. Toàn bộ thông tin này được FIVB gửi tới Liên đoàn và đội tuyển bóng chuyền nữ U21 Việt Nam trong cuộc họp bắt đầu lúc 21h30 tối 12/8, trước khi thông báo chính thức được ban hành ngay trong đêm. Ngay sau khi nhận được thông tin, Liên đoàn Bóng chuyền Việt Nam, với sự hỗ trợ của các luật sư, đã và đang tích cực hoàn thiện hồ sơ, chứng cứ để làm việc với FIVB nhằm bảo vệ quyền lợi cho VĐV Việt Nam. Như đã thông tin, tối muộn ngày 12/8, FIVB phát đi thông báo liên quan đến sự cố của tuyển bóng chuyền nữ U21 Việt Nam tại giải vô địch U21 Thế giới 2025 tổ chức ở Indonesia. Theo FIVB, quá trình điều tra được tiến hành sau khi xuất hiện lo ngại rằng Liên đoàn Bóng chuyền Việt Nam đưa một VĐV không đủ điều kiện thi đấu vào danh sách tuyển U21 tham dự giải. U21 Việt Nam để lại dấu ấn tại giải. Trên cơ sở đó, FIVB quyết định hủy bỏ toàn bộ kết quả các trận đấu của tuyển U21 Việt Nam có sự tham gia của VĐV vi phạm (xử thua 0-3) và cầu thủ này không thể tiếp tục đồng hành cùng đội tuyển U21 trong chặng đường còn lại của giải. Với quyết định trên, U21 Việt Nam rơi xuống vị trí thứ 6 bảng A với chỉ một trận thắng, đồng nghĩa bị loại khỏi vòng 1/16. Hiện FIVB chưa có thông báo chính thức nào về lý do VĐV Việt Nam vi phạm các quy định của giải đấu cũng như của Liên đoàn bóng chuyền thế giới.
