Honda makes no bones about the bike having a fixed battery, which could be a deal breaker for some urbanites. - Credit: HondaBoth of those kudos are notable — as is the scooter-like EV Urban Concept also garnering Red Dot recognition — but for serious two-wheeled enthusiasts, the big news concerns the electric sportbike. Especially because of this loaded sentence: “The production model based on this concept model will be a naked sports model equivalent to a mid-sized (ICE) motorcycle and is scheduled to go on sale before the end of the current fiscal year (ending March 31, 2026) as the first Honda electric sports model equipped with a fixed battery.” Hype(d) machineAdding fuel to this fire is a teaser video Honda dropped a couple weeks ago, one that appears to show an updated version of the Concept and telling viewers to “be the wind” — and also to stay tuned for more news on September 2. What jumps out in the 15-second clip? Among other things, a new TFT display, a revised triple clamp and a busier left-hand switchgear. A swappable power source would not only enable more miles but also be appealing to apartment dwellers who may lack a garage in which to charge the bike overnight. On that front, electric-only brands such as Maven — not to mention, believe it or not, Harley-Davidson — could eat Honda’s lunch with removable batteries. A viral YouTube video is turning heads — and shifting gears — with a "mind-bending" look at what happens when two worlds collide: classic cars and electric power. The video showcases the EV conversion by Everrati, a fully electric reimagination of the iconic Porsche 911 964. At first glance, it looks like the original — timeless body, RS 3.8 badging, carbon fiber details, and a spoiler fit for the track. But as the narrator puts it, "You look at this thing from the outside and you expect it to sound like a 964 … but then you get in and drive it and it sounds like a Tesla." The overhaul replaces the car's original 3.8-liter flat-six with a 500-horsepower electric motor and a 64 kWh battery pack capable of 200 miles on a charge. And yes, it's all reversible: "They'll even put the engine in a nice glass display case for you." YouTube was quick to marvel at this reconceptualization. "This is an upgrade in terms of simplicity, cost of ownership, and reliability," a user commented. "It's nice they give you all the old parts so you still have the option." "That car is a beauty no matter what is powering it," another added. Still, for some purists, the silence is deafening: "Rev matching gone. Manual gearbox gone. LONDON (Reuters) -Britain's foreign minister David Lammy could be on the hook for a 2,500 pounds ($3,394) fine following his fishing trip last week with U.S. Vice President JD Vance, after admitting he didn't have the required licence. Vance and Lammy were pictured by invited media as they fished in the lake at the foreign minister's Chevening country residence in southeast England before a bilateral meeting as part of the vice president's working holiday to Britain. The vice president later joked on camera that the only strain on the U.S.-British special relationship was that while his three children had caught fish, the British foreign minister had not. All anglers are required by law to have a valid rod licence while they are fishing, regardless of whether they catch anything and whether they are on private land. Breaches can be punished with a fine of up to 2,500 pounds ($3,394). Lammy's office on Wednesday said he had not purchased the licence before the trip and had since sought to rectify the mistake. "The Foreign Secretary has written to the Environment Agency over an administrative oversight that meant the appropriate licences had not been acquired for fishing on a private lake as part of a diplomatic engagement at Chevening House last week," a spokesperson for Britain's Foreign Office said in a statement. "As soon as the Foreign Secretary was made aware of the administrative error, he successfully purchased the relevant rod fishing licences." The spokesperson had no immediate comment on whether a licence had been purchased for Vance too. Vance is in England with his wife Usha and their children, who are spending this week in the hamlet of Dean in the picturesque Cotswolds, following their stay at Chevening. Our ranking of barbecue chains from worst to best shows how far a mighty restaurant can fall. Business was once booming at Texas-based Dickey's Barbecue Pit, as the restaurant held the distinct honor of being the largest American barbecue chain in the world with 550 locations. If you're the type to ask, "What have you done for me lately (Dickey's)?" we regret to inform you that the dining establishment earned second to last place in our ranking due to its poor reviews. The chain has also experienced major setbacks in its location count. Dickey's appears to be dwindling rather fast. As of the beginning of 2025, the chain was down to just 318 locations because of closures and restaurant sales. Additionally, many of these sales and closures occurred between 2024 and 2025, which doesn't portend good things for the barbecue brand. Dickey's virtual kitchens (delivery-exclusive establishments operating out of external kitchens) were particularly hard hit, as most of them have ceased operating. Dickey's hopes that the closures strengthen the overall brand and free up resources for the remaining locations that are thriving. The remains of a 25-year-old Antarctic researcher have been found 66 years after he disappeared when he fell into a crevasse in 1959 during a survey mission, officials said. Dennis "Tink" Bell's remains were found among rocks exposed by a receding glacier at Admiralty Bay on King George Island, situated off the Antarctic Peninsula after he fell into a crevasse on July 26, 1959, and his team was unable to recover his body after the accident, the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) said. Over 200 personal items were also found, including the remains of radio equipment, a flashlight, ski poles, an inscribed Erguel wristwatch, a Swedish Mora knife, ski poles and an ebonite pipe stem, the BAS confirmed. « C’est un ami cher que je perds aujourd’hui. » Anne Hidalgo a annoncé ce mercredi 13 août la mort de l’acteur Jacques Martial, qui était devenu son adjoint. L’homme de 69 ans s’est éteint « au terme d’une lutte courageuse contre la maladie », précise la maire de Paris dans son communiqué, où elle salue la mémoire d’« un grand homme de théâtre, de cinéma et de télévision ». Jacques Martial était surtout connu du grand public pour son rôle dans la série policière Navarro, où il interprétait le rôle de l’inspecteur Bain-Marie qui épaulait le célèbre commissaire incarné par Roger Hanin. Le comédien est aussi apparu dans plusieurs films, notamment l’adaptation au cinéma de la pièce Une histoire d’amour d’Alexis Michalik en 2023.
