　10代の若者に海外文学の魅力を知ってもらおうと、新たな文学賞「10代がえらぶ海外文学大賞」が創設された。すでに7作のノミネート作品が発表され、9月1日から26日まで、10代に限定して投票を受け付ける。ノミネート作の選考委員の一人で翻訳家の三辺律子さんは「1冊だけでも読んで、面白ければ投票してください。読んでもらいたいと自信がある作品ばかりです」と話している。 　賞の対象は2024年に日本で刊行された10代が主人公の海外（翻訳）文学。まず幅広い年代の約300人から寄せられた約500票、計111作から、投票が多かった上位16作と、6人の選考委員による推薦作を加えた計22作を選出。6月末に選考委員による選考会を開き、ノミネート7作品が決定した。大賞を決める2次投票には選考委員は関わらず、特設サイトから10代に投票を呼びかける。 View the full article

　兵庫県豊岡市にて、建築設計事務所「象設計集団」が手がけたドーモ・キニャーナ（1993年）を訪問した。大きく育った樹木を起点としつつ、空間が構成され、装飾的な細部、左官職人の久住章による壁、現場担当のアメリカ人の介入によって、実に豊かで複雑な建築である。 　象のデザインは沖縄県名護市庁舎（81年）の代表作で知られるように、強烈な土着性を特徴とするが、この住宅も設計と施工に手間と時間をかけ、完成後も成長を続け、土地に棲息（せいそく）する生きもののようだった。 　30年後の改修は若手の「ガラージュ」が担当し、これまでの記録を整理・分析しつつ、主に3階における外部との接続や浴室を調整し、近くを流れる川への展望をより楽しめるように変えている。 View the full article

Ngày 20/8, Sở GD-ĐT Hà Nội tổ chức hội nghị tổng kết năm học 2024-2025, triển khai nhiệm vụ năm học 2025-2026 và phát động thi đua chào mừng kỷ niệm 80 năm thành lập Bộ Quốc gia Giáo dục (nay là Bộ GD-ĐT). Dự hội nghị, Thứ trưởng Bộ GD-ĐT Phạm Ngọc Thưởng ghi nhận và chúc mừng những thành tích toàn diện của ngành GD-ĐT Hà Nội trong năm học vừa qua. Năm học 2025-2026 là năm đầu tiên cả nước áp dụng mô hình chính quyền địa phương 2 cấp, vì vậy, thứ trưởng nhấn mạnh việc đổi mới phương pháp quản lý giáo dục cho phù hợp. “Chúng ta phải chuyển đổi phương pháp quản lý giáo dục, chuyển từ quản lý hành chính sang quản lý kiến tạo và thúc đẩy. Hành chính là mệnh lệnh, là giao chỉ tiêu và đã là mệnh lệnh thì có tính áp đặt. Còn kiến tạo là định hướng, trao sự chủ động và chúng ta phải chuyển đổi sang phương pháp quản lý này”, ông Thưởng nói. Ông cho rằng cần trao quyền cho các trường, thay vì tiền kiểm như trước đây thì chuyển sang hậu kiểm. Bên cạnh đó, cần tiếp tục chăm lo cho đội ngũ cán bộ quản lý và giáo viên bởi đây là lực lượng quyết định chất lượng giáo dục đào tạo. Thứ trưởng Bộ GD-ĐT Phạm Ngọc Thưởng phát biểu tại hội nghị. Ngoài ra, cần làm tốt công tác phối hợp giữa gia đình, nhà trường và xã hội. “Chúng ta nhớ khi triển khai Thông tư 29 quy định về dạy thêm, học thêm và yêu cầu tinh thần tự học của học sinh... Các em không đáng phải học thêm, không cần học thêm thì đừng ép học thêm, mà hướng các em hình thành những năng lực, phẩm chất khác như chơi thể thao, văn nghệ...”, Thứ trưởng chia sẻ. Thứ trưởng Phạm Ngọc Thưởng kể: “Cách đây 3 tuần, tôi từng hỏi một cô hiệu trưởng ở Hà Nội rằng thực hiện Thông tư 29, các thầy cô có bị giảm thu nhập hơn không? Cô hiệu trưởng đáp: "Giảm nhiều, nhưng chúng em thực hiện nghiêm túc". Sau đó, tôi có nhắn tin trả lời cô rằng, thực tế giảm là giảm những thu nhập vốn không thuộc về chúng ta. Như vậy, đó không phải là giảm. Hay có thể nói chúng ta giảm, hay mất phần thu nhập không phải của chúng ta. Hãy vì học sinh hơn nữa, vì đồng nghiệp mình hơn nữa. Hãy vì một nền giáo dục thực chất và công bằng hơn nữa”. Theo ông Thưởng, cái chúng ta hướng đến bền vững, chất lượng hơn không phải chỉ là so sánh với 34 tỉnh, thành hay đứng đầu cả nước, mà phải so sánh trong khu vực, thế giới. Đồng quan điểm, ông Nguyễn Văn Phong, Phó Bí thư Thường trực Thành ủy Hà Nội chia sẻ, ông từng rất băn khoăn khi biết một phường trên địa bàn vốn thiếu trường học nhiều năm nay, giờ đây có điều kiện xây dựng thì lại dự kiến xây cùng lúc 2 trường tiểu học cạnh nhau. “Tôi hỏi tại sao thì nhận được câu trả lời rằng làm như thế để phấn đấu đạt chuẩn. Tôi nói như thế phải cân nhắc lại”, ông Phong kể. Ông bày tỏ sự đồng tình với quan điểm của Thứ trưởng Bộ GD-ĐT Phạm Ngọc Thưởng, tức là không nên đánh đổi quyền lợi của học sinh để lấy những thứ thành tích không thực chất. Hà Nội cho học sinh các trường nội đô nghỉ học trong 3 ngày phục vụ A80 Giám đốc Sở GD-ĐT Hà Nội cho biết, dự kiến Hà Nội sẽ cho học sinh các trường trong khu vực nội đô tạm nghỉ học các ngày 21, 24 và 27/8 để tạo điều kiện cho hoạt động diễu binh, diễu hành được an toàn, thông suốt. Hà Nội tuyển hơn 900 giáo viên, nhân viên các trường công lập Sở GD-ĐT Hà Nội cho biết, năm 2025 sẽ tuyển dụng 942 viên chức làm việc tại các trường trực thuộc. Trong đó có 848 giáo viên và 94 nhân viên. Đề nghị điều động, biệt phái giáo viên đảm bảo đủ đội ngũ cho năm học mới Bộ GD-ĐT đề nghị UBND cấp tỉnh xem xét, bố trí kinh phí và thực hiện ký hợp đồng lao động hoặc điều động, biệt phái, bố trí giáo viên liên trường, liên cấp để đảm bảo đủ đội ngũ cho năm học mới. Being an airline pilot apparently isn't as glamorous a profession as it used to be. One British Airways pilot decided to take matters into his own hands to show off his job to family members when he chose to fly with the cockpit door open during a London-to-New York flight earlier this month. It's safe to say that the door being unlocked and wide open caught the attention of passengers and other crew members. The pilot was quickly suspended once the plane touched down in the Big Apple, and the return flight to Heathrow was canceled. The incident happened on August 6 from Heathrow Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport, arguably the most prestigious airline route in the world. According to Simple Flying, the Boeing 777's cockpit door was open for a significant amount of time during the flight. Despite the regulations requiring the door to be locked, one of the pilots made an active decision to keep the door open so his family, who were onboard as passengers, could see him at the controls. The next day's return flight to Heathrow was canceled. The airline stated that most of the passengers arrived at Heathrow on different flights within four hours of their original arrival time. A British Airways spokesperson said, "Safety and security is our top priority and allegations of this nature are always fully investigated." Despite the comments from the British flag carrier, the airline lifted the pilot's suspension after its investigation found no security risk. The incident shouldn't be taken lightly just because nothing went wrong. In the grand scheme of British Airways pilots misbehaving, someone violating post-9/11 safety protocol isn't that bad. Another pilot was fired in 2023 for a wild night out in Johannesburg, South Africa before a flight to Heathrow. The married man bragged to a flight attendant about snorting cocaine off a topless woman's chest. The flight attendant understandably told their superiors, who canceled the flight and suspended the pilot. The suspension became a termination after the pilot was flown back to Heathrow and tested positive for cocaine.
