Hi everyone, I live in San Francisco/Daly City, CA, and I’m lucky to have an affordable living situation right now. I’ve been educating myself on how to invest in real estate, and a lot of experienced investors recommend house hacking as a first step. However, in California, that can still be really expensive. Because of this, I’m leaning toward investing out of state as my first move. For those of you who have gone this route: • What steps should I take next to prepare for buying out of state?
• How did you choose your market? • Any tips on building a reliable long-distance team (agent, property manager, etc.)? • Are there specific markets you’d recommend for a first-time investor looking for solid cash flow and manageable risk? I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. Thanks in advance! — Alessondra
