美國總統特朗普（Donald Trump）8月19日表示，他希望俄羅斯總統普京（Vladimir Putin）能推動讓俄烏戰爭結束，但同時承認「普京可能不想達成協議」，他稱會在未來數週了解普京的立場。

特朗普19日表示，「我覺得普京已經厭倦了。我認為他們都厭倦了，但你永遠不會知道。」

他稱會在未來數週內了解普京的立場，但對方有可能不想達成協議，他補充說，若然這樣的話，普京將面臨「艱難的處境」。

瑞士：準備好舉辦和談

瑞士外長卡西斯（Ignazio Cassis）19日指，雖然國際刑事法院（ICC）對普京發出拘捕令，但瑞士仍願意接待普京，準備好舉辦任何關於烏克蘭問題的和談。

他稱若果普京是為了和平目的而來，那麼瑞士可以接待他，「這與我們的外交角色有關，日內瓦是聯合國（歐洲）總部。」
