NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The New Mexico Wildlife Center said a Sonoran gopher snake made an understandable, yet dangerous mistake when looking for a meal. The center said the snake ventured into a chicken coop for a snack but accidentally swallowed two fake eggs. They said decoy eggs cannot be digested, but thankfully, the center was able to remove them from the snake and release it to a safe location.

According to the center, decoy eggs help teach chickens to lay eggs in a particular place, like a nest box in a coop.
