Heavy rain sent floodwaters gushing through a cave attraction in southern Minnesota early Monday morning.

Niagara Cave in Harmony, Fillmore County, shared video and pictures showing streams of water pouring through the cave system.

It comes after around 5 inches of rain fell in the Harmony area alone on Sunday, according to rain gauge readings.

Flash flood warnings were in effect in several regions of Minnesota as the latest rounds of strong or severe thunderstorms hit the state over the weekend.

"Due to continued heavy rain overnight, Niagara Cave is experiencing flooding today, Monday, August 18th," the attraction posted. "While we will honor previously booked tours, we strongly advise you choose a different day to visit Niagara Cave, as key portions of the Cave are not accessible today. Thank you for your understanding."

Cave tours were being offered at 50% off Monday as the attraction's waterfall and some areas were inaccessible to visitors.

Niagara Cave is a family-owned attraction, giving people tours of "natural canyon-like passageways sculpted by water from an underground stream."
