OVI checkpoints in Northeast Ohio this week

(WJW) – There are some upcoming sobriety checkpoints to be aware of.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced Monday that troopers will be looking for impaired drivers this weekend.

The Cleveland post announced an OVI checkpoint is planned for Friday or Saturday.

However, the location will not be announced until the day prior to the checkpoint, according to a news release.

Newburgh Heights police also said its officers would be looking for impaired drivers this weekend.

Last weekend, multiple sobriety checkpoints were held at locations in Crawford, Stark and Summit counties.

Out of more than 1,000 drivers who were checked in Crawford, Stark and Summit counties, there were seven arrests.
