　全国高校野球選手権大会は19日、甲子園球場で京都国際―山梨学院、関東第一（東東京）―日大三（西東京）、県岐阜商―横浜（神奈川）、沖縄尚学―東洋大姫路（兵庫）の準々決勝が行われる。18日は休養日で、各校はそれぞれ調整した。

　過酷な暑さの中での大会で、投手への負担増が心配される。県岐阜商や、東京勢対決となる関東第一と日大三は打撃練習に時間を割き、援護への準備に余念がなかった。
