Indiana University Kelley School of Business has implemented changes that affect both current students seeking standard admission into Kelley and future applicants seeking direct admission.

Here’s what you should know about these changes.

Standard admission changes for pre-business students

Students who are enrolling in IU Bloomington for summer 2025 through spring 2026 and apply for standard admission to the Kelley School must earn a B+ or higher in every IU course they are enrolled in.

For students who are enrolling in IU Bloomington for summer 2026 through spring 2027, this grade requirement increases to an A-.

This grade letter requirement was formerly a B for all students seeking standard admission into Kelley.

Direct admission changes for incoming applicants

Starting in fall of 2026, students will no longer be automatically qualified for direct admission by maintaining a GPA of 3.8 or higher with a 1370 SAT or 30 ACT score. The admissions team will instead use a comprehensive review process to consider students for direct admission.

To be considered for admission, students must fill out the Kelley Prospect Inventory (KPI). This form is available in the IU Portal and allows applicants to share both their academic milestones and interests in business with the Kelley Admissions team.

The application will then be evaluated on high school performance, rigor of coursework, academic accomplishments and other indicators of success at Kelley. Letters of recommendation are not used in the evaluation process.

According to the IU Kelley School of Business website, this new review process places greater emphasis on the student’s overall potential to succeed at the Kelley School.

“This change reflects Kelley’s commitment to fairness, academic excellence and expanding opportunity, ensuring high-achieving students from all backgrounds are considered for direct admission,” the website read.
