Dodge has trademarked the name “Outlaw,” signaling possible plans for a bold new vehicle or special edition in the brand’s rugged lineup.

Dodge has quietly registered the trademark for the name "Outlaw," fueling speculation that the automaker may be preparing a tough new variant or specialized trim within its truck or SUV portfolio.

The trademark, filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in mid‑2025, lists categories including automotive vehicles, parts, accessories, and branded apparel. While Dodge has declined to comment, the naming convention aligns with the macho and adventurous branding evident in its recent products.

Automotive analysts theorize that “Outlaw” could debut as a rugged variant of current models like the Jeep-derived Wagoneer—or even a future Ram Truck crossover, hinting at serious off-road capability potentially rivaling Ford’s Raptor or Jeep’s Trailhawk series. Brands like Ram have already used “Outlaw” badges for lifted, customization-heavy versions of their heavy-duty pickups, and Dodge may be aiming to expand its use to a full production sub-brand.

The Dodge name itself has been evolving under Stellantis since the formation of the corporate group. As Dodge shifts toward electrified muscle—most recently with its hybrid-powered, atmo‑charged Daytona SRT concept—the introduction of an “Outlaw” designation would give the brand flexibility to hybridize off-road performance without diluting the wild-road appeal.

Trademark filings don’t guarantee production, but the timing and language suggest Dodge is staking out territory for something bold. The name could launch alongside announcement or reveal events tied to off-road, ruggedized trims.

If this leads to a new electrified, performance-oriented off-road vehicle, it would mark Dodge’s next chapter—one that combines raw capability with its celebrated performance heritage. Enthusiasts will be watching to see if “Outlaw” becomes more than a badge—if it becomes a vehicle in its own right.
