SMITH COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — A 70-year-old motorcyclist died Friday evening after crashing into a pickup and trailer that was turning into a cemetery.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 5:10 p.m. on U.S. Highway 36, just east of the U.S. 281 junction.

According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado pulling a trailer was slowing down to turn into a cemetery drive when a motorcycle struck the back of the trailer.

The rider, a man from Parker, Nebraska, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four people inside the pickup—three adults and a teenager from Nebraska—were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
