Hi, everyone, I recently noticed a new type of fake or deceptive website when I was helping clients apply for Google merchant accounts. They use Google merchant accounts to promote website products. When I was helping them appeal Google merchant accounts, I found that they have two sets of products. One set of products is normally reviewed and displayed to Google, and the other set of products is specifically displayed for Google shopping ads. Some may set up jumps. I also accidentally discovered this because they deleted all the products they wanted to be in Google shopping ads before giving me the Google merchant account, and the remaining products are specifically used to deal with Google merchant audits. This is what I found. Screenshot:

 

You can see that the product price has increased from 10,000 to 5,000. In order to prevent me from seeing them, they deleted all the fraudulent products and only left the normal products.

 

High click volume, nearly 20,000 clicks in 2-3 days

 

Next, let’s look at the product clicks. These are the products they deleted because they did not authorize the ads account to me. I cannot see the ads information.

This kind of website is generally based on wordpress, shopline, shopify, shopyy, and some third-party platforms. Usually their domain names may be different or similar to normal official stores. Otherwise, they make mobile phone cases, but the products in the store are lawn mowers or barbecue grills, which are priced at 50-300 US dollars. What's more outrageous is that they also have medical devices. Of course, when you buy their products, you will not receive anything or a fake courier number. The payment method of this website is usually paypal. Or Stripe, they have already transferred the money to other PayPal accounts or consumed it while you are waiting for the delivery. Even if you file a dispute with PayPal, they only freeze the account that received the payment. You should know that they have more than one PayPal account, there may be thousands of them.
