Thankfully, Google now gives you a few ways to take back control by indicating what sources you want to see stories from. Google's Preferred Sources blog post explains this:

These steps work on both mobile and desktop—just make sure you're signed into your Google account first.

Follow MUO on Google Discover

Google Discover is a feed of articles hand-picked for your interests that's one of the many great features of the Google app on your phone. If you've read an MUO article in the last several months, chances are that it caught your eye on Discover.

As you might have noticed, you can tap the Follow button on any MUO article you see in Discover. But you don't have to wait for the next one to come up. Visit MakeUseOf's Google profile and click Follow on Google to add us as a preferred source right away.

Doing this means you'll see more of us on Discover and can view all our content from across the web in one place on our profile page. Just tap MUO's name anytime you see it, or use the profile link above.

Set MUO as a preferred Google Search source

Telling Google you want to see more from MUO is possible on the company's other services, too. For Search, visit the Google Source preferences page, type "makeuseof.com" into the box, and check it to make it one of your top sources. While you're here, feel free to add your other favorite sites so you see more of them across Google Search.

If you want to change your sources later, expand the Your Sources section at the bottom of this page, where you can uncheck any sites you aren't interested in anymore. To view this list in the Google app on your phone, tap your profile picture at the top-right, choose Search personalization, then scroll down and select Source preferences.

Follow MUO on Google News

Finally, there's one more way to make sure you get the most of MUO's coverage: follow us on Google News for timely stories. To do so, visit Google News and type "MakeUseOf" into the search bar.

On the right side, you'll see our name as a Source. Click the Follow button to tell Google News you want to see more of our coverage there.
